Botox Injections in Fort Worth, TX
What Is BOTOX®?
Botox® is an injectable dynamic wrinkle treatment that temporarily relaxes the muscles. When used for cosmetic purposes, Botox targets the muscles in the face responsible for fine lines and wrinkles. Smiling, laughing, frowning and other expressions all contribute to muscles contracting, which creates wrinkles over time and contributes to the facial features looking older and the skin seeming less elastic.
What Is Dysport®?
Dysport is another brand of botulinum toxin, like Botox and Xeomin, and it's used to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines, particularly on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (the "11s"). It works the same way as Botox by blocking the nerve signals to specific muscles, causing them to relax and smooth out the overlying skin. Common injection sites include forehead lines that are produced when you frown or lines around the eyes and nose
One of the main differences between Dysport and Botox is the way they are formulated. Dysport tends to spread out a bit more after it’s injected, so it may be better for treating larger areas (like the forehead). Some people also report that they notice results with Dysport a little faster than with Botox, often within 5 to 7 days compared to the usual 7 to 14days with Botox.
What Is Xeomin®?
Xeomin is a brand name for a type of botulinum toxin injection, similar to Botox. It’s used primarily to treat fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the forehead, eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (the "11s"). It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.
One thing that sets Xeomin apart from Botox is that Xeomin doesn’t contain any additives or proteins, which means it’s a "purer" form of botulinum toxin. This can sometimes make it a better option for people who have developed a resistance to Botox or experience sensitivity to the proteins in it.

What’s the Difference Between BOTOX® and Dysport®?
Botox® and Dysport® are both neurotoxins derived from botulinum toxin A, and they work in very similar ways. However, they are produced by different manufacturers and have slightly different formulations. It’s important to work with an injector you trust to recommend the best option for you.
Botox vs. Dysport vs. Xeomin
The three—Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®—are all types of botulinum toxin injections, but they do have some differences in terms of formulation, spread, onset time, and potential uses. Here's a breakdown of the key distinctions:
Formulation
-
Botox: Contains botulinum toxin type A with some added proteins, which can sometimes lead to the body building up a resistance over time.
-
Dysport: Also contains botulinum toxin type A but with a different formulation and smaller molecule size, which allows it to spread more easily and cover a wider area with fewer injections.
-
Xeomin: The "purest" form—contains botulinum toxin type A without any added proteins. This makes it less likely to trigger an immune response or resistance.
Onset of Results
-
Botox: Can take up to 7-14 days to see full results, though some patients have reported noticing changes within 5 days.
-
Dysport: Tends to show results a little quicker, usually within 5-7 days.
-
Xeomin: Similar to Botox, it takes up to 14 days for full effects to show, but it can also kick in a little sooner for some people.
Spread and Area of Treatment
-
Botox: Works well for smaller, more targeted areas. It's ideal for treating things like frown lines and crow’s feet.
-
Dysport: Its smaller molecule size allows it to diffuse more easily, making it great for larger areas like the forehead.
-
Xeomin: Like Botox, it’s more precise in its action and doesn’t diffuse as much, making it ideal for smaller areas too.
Duration of Effect
-
Botox: Typically lasts around 3+ months.
-
Dysport: Some people find it works a bit faster but doesn’t last quite as long as Botox, usually around -3 months.
-
Xeomin: The effects are similar to Botox, lasting about 3+ months.
More Comparison
When it comes to smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are three incredible options that work wonders! While they all use botulinum toxin type A to relax muscles and soften expressions, here’s how they stand out:
Botox: Perfect for precision targeting, like crow’s feet and frown lines.
Dysport: Known for its smaller protein molecules, making it spread a bit faster and wider.
Xeomin: The “pure” one – just the active ingredient without any extra proteins, great for those who want to keep it simple.
